Argentina player to watch: Lionel Messi
Messi, one of the best to ever play, could help Argentina achieve a momentous feat with another Copa America title: Three international titles in a three-year span.
Messi has just one goal in the tournament – and fans had to wait five matches (with him missing one game due to injury) to see it. He tipped in a shot from Enzo Fernandez in the second half in Argentina’s 2-0 win over Canada in the semifinals.
Another tournament championship would be another defining moment in the twilight of Messi’s career and his stint in the United States.
Colombia player to watch: James Rodríguez
James Rodríguez has been the best player during this Copa America, his six assists leading all players in the tournament.
Colombia has scored 12 goals in five matches, including the deciding goal from a corner kick Rodríguez delivered in the first half against Uruguay to reach the final.
How long is Colombia's unbeaten streak?
Colombia has not lost in its last 28 matches. Its last loss was a 1-0 defeat to Argentina in an Olympic qualifying match on Feb. 1, 2022.
Argentina record in the last three years
Argentina has lost just three of its last 63 matches.
Their last three losses: to Brazil in the Copa America 2019 semifinal; to Saudi Arabia in the 2022 World Cup opener; and to Uruguay in Olympic qualifying last November.
